Know Your Rights New Hampshire – HIV, Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) (2014)
This fact sheet summarizes the rights of people living with HIV in the state of New Hampshire. It describes state and federal anti-discrimination protections, as well as information regarding confidentiality, consent required for HIV testing, disability insurance and HIV-related criminal laws.
In New Hampshire, an employer cannot refuse to hire, fire, or discriminate against a person based on HIV status. A person cannot be denied access to housing, evicted or refused financing because of his/her HIV status. Also, public school or most private schools cannot discriminate against a person based on HIV status. New Hampshire does not have any specific criminal laws regarding HIV transmission.
