Kennedy v. Braidwood, U.S. Supreme Court (2025)

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Kennedy v. Braidwood with a decision authored by Justice Kavanaugh and joined by Justices Roberts, Sotomayor, Kagan, Barret,t and Jackson. Justice Thomas authored a dissent, joined by Alito and Gorsuch.
The case challenged the structure of a task force in the Department of Health and Human Services that made recommendations about preventive services that insurers would be required to cover at no additional cost to patients. The court held that the appointment of the task force members is consistent with the Constitution.
