It's Time to End the Criminalization of HIV (2013)

Criminalizing HIV is an ineffective misuse of law, according to an July 10, 2013 article by Dázon Dixon Diallo, the founder and president of SisterLove, and Craig Washington, a prevention-programs manager at AID Atlanta. The article, featured in the Body, explains that Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) introduced The Repeal HIV Discrimination Act of 2013, proposed legislation encouraging state governments to repeal laws that are based on disproven fears.  As the article noted, CHLP's REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act Outreach Toolkit can help advocates to effectively engage state representatives.
