Intersectionality: The Future of the Civil Rights Movement (2014)

LatinoJustice PRLDEF, a leading national Latino civil rights organization, hosted a brown-bag lunch presentation featuring CHLP Legal Director, Ivan Espinoza-Madrigal on July 2, 2014. As part of this presentation, Espinoza-Madrigal explored legal and policy strategies for advancing civil rights in the 21st Century, and explained that social justice advocacy must be informed by the experiences of vulnerable and marginalized people who identify across multiple identities, including discrimination and oppression based on race, class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration, and HIV.
