Seven Days in June: The Cost of Survival
CHLP's Jada Hicks will be joining fellow advocates and partner organizations at The Cost of Survival Rally at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, June 3. This public action brings together advocates, directly impacted communities, health care providers, organizers, storytellers, labor voices, housing advocates, and coalition partners outside Congress to demand action on the growing cost of survival in America.
As communities across the country face rising health care costs, threats to Medicaid and HIV funding, housing instability, food insecurity, and increasing economic pressure, this rally will make visible the human consequences of policy decisions that shape whether people can survive safely and with dignity.
The event will center storytelling, visual art, and direct public action to highlight how HIV advocacy, health care affordability, housing, food access, and economic stability are deeply connected.
The rally will feature speakers, coalition partners, an artist-created visual installation, and opportunities for attendees to take immediate action by contacting congressional representatives and demanding that Congress prioritize health care affordability and protect the systems people rely on to survive.
The Cost of Survival Rally is held in partnership with the Seven Days in June: HEALTH IS PRIMARY campaign, a national call to elevate health as a governing priority. Learn more about campaigns in your area by visiting SevenDaysInJune.org.
