On Thursday, November 20, CHLP Executive Director S. Mandisa Moore-O'Neal will be attending the Beyond Borders conference in Washington, DC. She will present in the closing plenary, The Necessity of Solidarity: Lessons from the U.S. & Abroad in Fighting Authoritarianism.

Authoritarians depend on pre-emptive compliance and divide-and-conquer strategies. Solidarity isn't just needed; it’s our superpower.  This closing session will be focused on solidarity in action and speakers will share lessons learned and opportunities to foster cross-sector solidarity. By exploring both international and domestic social change examples, we aim to craft a compelling, worldwide vision for our future.

This convening gathers state legislators, advocates, and global partners committed to advancing reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy, economic justice, and democratic resilience amid unprecedented threats.

Hosted jointly by State Innovation Exchange (SiX) and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, Beyond Borders 2025 will provide a unique opportunity to strengthen transnational partnerships, share best practices, and build collective strategies to protect and expand rights in an increasingly interconnected world.
