Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers provide important support to CHLP's mission of challenging barriers to the rights and health of people affected by HIV through legal advocacy, high-impact policy initiatives, and creation of cross-issue partnerships, networks and resources. Volunteers dedicate their time and skills to equality and justice while gaining valuable experience in the non-profit world.

Volunteer opportunities include providing assistance with the following projects:

  • Administrative support;
  • Community outreach and education;
  • Development / fundraising;
  • Language translation services (particularly English to Spanish);
  • Technical support for our website and social media; and
  • Researching, drafting, and editing content for the HIV Policy Resource Bank and The Fine Print Blog.

To apply to volunteer, please send the following to programassociate@hivlawandpolicy.org with the subject heading "Volunteer Application":

  • Cover letter;
  • Resume; and
  • Writing sample.

If you are selected for an interview, CHLP will also require the names and contact information of at least two references.

Attorneys can support CHLP's important work by joining the HIV Legal Collaborative, and law students are encouraged to apply for internships.
