CHLP participates in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference Panel on HIV Criminalization (2011)

On Friday September 23rd, as part of the 41st Annual Legislative Conference, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) will hold a panel discussion on "HIV Criminalization- Why It Should Matter to You". Speakers will include the Honorable Barbara Lee (D-CA), the Center for HIV Law and Policy's Executive Director Catherine Hanssens, and Terrance Moore, Associate Director of the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors. It should be a fascinating discussion of HIV criminal laws and prosecutions and the public health challenges they create. The CBCF's decision to host this panel at their annual conference reflects the importance of HIV criminalization, particularly in already marginalized communities. More information about the event is available here.
